OTC Test Centre

OPACKGROUP has opened the OTC Test Centre, a testing facility where food producers can test new packaging in a practical manner outside their own production environment. The centre focuses on packaging with specific barrier properties, such as Optilayer shrink film solutions and applications in flowvac, flowwrap and thermoforming, which must comply with the PPWR.

With the OTC Test Centre, OPACKGROUP offers customers and prospects from the meat, dairy, cheese, bake-off and fish processing industries, among others, the opportunity to test new and more sustainable packaging solutions without disrupting their production process. ‘This is a real game changer in the industrial packaging world,’ says Eddy Jansen, sales engineer at OPACKGROUP.

‘Whereas it can normally take months to test new packaging in production due to busy production schedules, this can now be done quickly and safely in our test centre.’ The OTC Test Centre is part of the OPACKGROUP Technology Centre, an independent research and test centre where a wide range of plastic and paper films and packaging are tested. Within the OTC Test Centre, the emphasis is on thermoforming, flow wrapping, vacuum packaging and shrink wrapping.
